Pumpkin Seed Project

Friday in class we did a pumpkin seed project! We took this pumpkin and estimated how many seed were inside this pumpkin!!

Before we got started we made a class estimate of how many seeds we thought was in the pumpkin. Here is what the boys and girls guessed:

Next, I cut the top of the pumpkin and scooped out all the seeds.

I scooped out the seeds on our tables for the boys and girls to dig out and count.

The boys and girls worked hard counting and sorting out the seeds!!

We recorded our data on the board:

We had 589 seeds in our pumpkin!! I still can't believe there were that many in that pumpkin!! I bagged them up and am going roasted them for the kids to enjoy on Monday!

The kids had a great time doing this fun project!!

Math Fun

So, I have been a horrible blogger, but I have been taking pictures, just not uploading them! :) Here are a few of what we have been doing in math.

We learned TouchPoints to help us with memorizing our addition facts!

Our new math textbooks came with fun math centers. They are games based on the skills we are learning and the kids get to play them when they finish their math assignments. They LOVE them!!!

Math is one of our favorite times of the day!!
